How to add categories when uploading a product
When uploading a new product, when you finish all other settings, you have the option to select one or more categories suitable for that product.
If you have not yet determined any categories or want to add another one, right there you can click + Add category to add it.
After selecting the categories for your product, click on the Publish Product button to make it ready.
When viewing your store, you will see that in the section of your products people can filter by category in this way:
How to add or modify categories in the menu
Are you looking to add categories to the menu, so that directly your site visitors can filter from there what kind of products or services to see?
You should know that:
By default, the categories shown in the menu are the first 5 you create.
If you want to define which ones you want to appear: you can do it by highlighting them!
Now, how do you highlight a category? It’s very simple:
- Go to your Store Dashboard.
- Choose Products and then Categories.
- Tap the star on the categories you want to highlight.
That’s it! That’s how easy it is to manage the categories visible in your menu.
How to delete or edit categories
When you want to modify or delete a category, just go to the Products section of your Store Dashboard and choose Categories.
From there, you will be able to manage 100% of your categories: add new ones, edit them or delete them.
- To edit them, tap on the pencil.
- To delete them, click on the trash can.
- And if you want to add a new one, click on the “Add category” button.
What categories are used for
Categories in your Neolo Shop can become your allies for many reasons:
- They make navigation easier and allow store visitors to find products or services quickly and easily.
- They help you organize and manage your inventory.
- They are also useful for your marketing strategy! They allow you to highlight products or services related to promotions or special sales.
- Categories make it easy to track and analyze sales performance – assessing which categories are the most popular, which generate the most revenue will be easier!
- By creating specific categories, your online store can target different segments of your audience. For example, if you are a clothing store, it would be ideal to have separate categories for men, women and children, so that each group can find your products quickly.
